Talo
Talo (Colocasia esculenta) oil painting by Jon Apisa.
The original artwork is a Polynesian constellation inspired by how the people of Anuta identify the star Antares and the surrounding stars near of what is commonly known as the Scorpius constellation.
With consideration to its visibility throughout Polynesia and identification by the people of Anuta, Talo as a constellation and/or Antares as a single star was high value for Polynesian Astronomy and Polynesian Navigation.
Talo in Sāmoa is the taro plant (Colocasia esculenta).
This is a diagram of Talo, (including Antares) near what is commonly known as Scorpius.
