Jon Apisa

Always interested in projects that use; clear communication, open collaboration, and mutual respect while working with others.

Jon was raised in Hawai’i and graduated from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV) with a degree in Art. Jon developed and improved his fine arts skills including 3D modeling, drawing, painting and contemporary forms of “Tatau” (Polynesian style tattooing).

Jon was awarded third place for his cartoon drawing in the UNLV newspaper, Rebel Yell, by the Society of Professional Journalists: Mark of Excellence Awards.

While completing college, Jon worked as a contract web designer for companies based in Hawai’i as well as Las Vegas. Upon graduation from UNLV, Jon moved to American Samoa & established his company, Pasefika Designs. Pasefika Designs specializes in various fine art works and web design. Jon has performed professional art work for the Samoan government marketing the Samoa Bowl I and II, the American Samoa Small Business Center, and Samoa Community College. Jon also served as a guest instructor for a summer art and computer art course at Pacific Islands Center for Educational Development (PICED).

Jon continues to improve his proficiency as an artist and designer. He enjoys sharing his knowledge, learned artistic skills and professional perspective with young artists. He was given this opportunity when invited to speak about web design at the 3rd Annual Pacific Islander High School Education Conference 2009.
